I hope this small snapshot of my approach and who I am as a psychotherapist helps you get to know me a bit more. I invite you to reach out, say hi and of course ask any questions you may have.
A bit about my approach to psychotherapy... it is an integrative, holistic one that allows me to draw on various models of therapy so that your treatment plan is suitable and unique to you. We aren't all created the same, right? So why should the approach be any different!
I go beyond talk therapy to address the root of the issue, rather than focusing on managing the symptoms. But most importantly, I aim to be solution-focused.
Through the combination of somatic, interpersonal, cognitive behavioural (CBT), and psychodynamic therapies, I'm able to help with alleviating anxiety, transitioning through difficult life stages, finding your purpose, processing grief, re-building confidence and self-esteem as well as healing old emotional wounds.
I'm truly passionate about empowering you when you are willing and wanting to create a more fulfilling life so that you can live the life you love. I am dedicated to helping you achieve your goals in a safe, nonjudgmental and compassionate environment. My strengths lie in being able to provide valuable insights, tools and asking difficult yet thoughtful questions – all driven by compassion, intuition, empathy and curiosity.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist and a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I am also a Certified Hypnotherapist and a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH).
For the care and convenience of my clients, all sessions are currently conducted via online therapy (by phone or video).

Melissa is passionate about mental health awareness and approaches counselling from a biopsychosocial approach – meaning that she considers all aspects of your life and how they contribute to your concerns. She also takes a client-centered approach as she strongly views the counselling process as a partnership in which she works collaboratively with you toward achieving a place in which you are confident and genuinely happy with your life.
While working with Melissa, you can expect to become more aware of your strengths and potential. You can also expect to learn about the benefits of a “growth mindset” and how to apply this type of thinking to your everyday life. Melissa is a strong supporter of accountability and will develop a personalized plan to ensure that you remain accountable and motivated to achieve your goals. Melissa works with individuals who struggle with acute/chronic stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, anger, relationship issues, trauma, and other day-to-day stressors.
Melissa offers sessions by video, phone or in-person at 2174 Major Mackenzie Drive in Maple, Ontario. She is available Mondays and Wednesdays 10am-6pm.

Melanie is an Individual and Couples Therapist and a corporate speaker. She focuses on creating a holistic approach to therapy in a safe, non-judgmental and compassionate space. She works to help you navigate through and reduce feelings of anxiousness and stress, process through depression and grief as well as navigate through relationship issues and life transitions. She draws upon several psychotherapy models to provide a unique approach, ultimately getting to the root of the issue, allowing you to feel lighter and more in control of your everyday life.
Our minds easily wander to the past- thinking of situations that have already happened that we wish we could change, or to the future, which brings feelings of uncertainty and anxiety. Melanie's approach of using Mindfulness, focuses on the present moment and provides you with the necessary tools to handle everyday stresses, overwhelming emotions and triggers.
She is committed to your best interest and will stick by you through your journey. Her goal is to help you grow through your struggles, heal from your pain and help you move forward to where you want to be.
Melanie offers sessions by video, phone or in-person at 80 Centre Street in Thornhill. She is available Monday thru Saturday with morning and evening appointment options.
